UAE is funding armed groups allied with General Khalifa Haftar. UAE has paid hundreds of millions over the last few years. Khalifa Haftar groups are involved in the Slavery trade in parts of Benghazi and the eastern provinces.  For example, Benghazi which is under the control of Haftar and his armed groups is a hub for slavery.

The City of Benghazi where Haftar is in control, Slavery markets are flourishing.  Migrant workers often captured while they try to make their journey by sea.

Africascountry News website report:  In Benghazi, in the eastern region, a popular local market is commonly named “slaves souk.” Same as in Tunisia, where “Zinji” or “Aswad” (close to “Blakee”) are culturally accepted terms to refer to fellow black people because they are thought to be practical forms of reference which are now devoid of any racial charge.
