ICBU Accuses the UAE’s Militias in Yemen of Raping children and killing Witnesses

The International Campaign to Boycott UAE (ICBU) has accused UAE’s armed militias of raping children and murdering witnesses in Yemen. UAE armed groups have killed Yemeni citizen Raafat Dennabah this month after he witnessed in the court against UAE militias of raping a child in Aden. Last year, an Emirati force of three gunmen raped a nine-year-old boy named Maysi and the men were arrested. Raafat was the only witness to the incident and was under tremendous pressure to change his testimony. Moreover, in November 2018 all important documents were disappeared in the case of Al-Mualla child suddenly without knowing the details. The Attorney General’s Office was informed at the time of an investigation into the incident, but it did not happen.

The southern Yemeni city of Aden is witnessing widespread protests against the killing of Raafat, the presence of UAE militias threatening the Yemeni community and repeated rape in the city. One participant said they came out against injustice and criminals, adding that now without witnesses and documents condemning the criminals would come out without accountability.

The boycott campaign called on the international community to immediately intervene to stop human rights violations in the UAE and to force the authorities in the UAE to respect human rights laws. The campaign also called on all countries that respect human rights laws and the free world to boycott the UAE because they violate human rights daily, whether in the war in Yemen or with neighbouring countries or citizens or residents

The boycott campaign aims to isolate the UAE economically and politically because of the endless violations of human rights practiced by the UAE, as well as the war crimes in Yemen and violations of workers’ rights. The UAE is a centre of modern slavery and today it is one of the leading countries in the field of human trafficking. UAE still supports terrorist groups in Syria and other parts of the Middle East and East African countries.
