ICBU Calls for Boycotting the 8th Dubai Engineering, Management and Scientific Conference

Sunday 1st , April 2018

International Campaign to Boycott UAE (ICBU) called on international companies, institutions, scientists and researchers to boycott the eighth scientific management and engineering conference which will be held on Monday, April 2 at the Hyatt Hotel in Dubai due to violations of human rights committed by the UAE regime inside and outside the UAE such as racial discrimination, and violation of women, foreign workers and journalists. ICBU said the participation in the 8th Dubai Science Conference is an encouragement to the UAE regime to continue to practice human rights abuses.

ICBU called on the international community to intervene immediately to stop human rights violations in the UAE and to force the authorities in the UAE to respect human rights laws. ICBU also called on all countries that respect human rights laws and the free world to boycott the UAE because they violate human rights daily, whether in the war in Yemen or with neighbouring countries or their citizens or residents.

ICBU said it was launched in the light of the endless violations of human rights practiced by the UAE, in addition to its war crimes in Yemen and violations of workers’ rights, as well as the fact that the UAE is the centre of modern slavery. The United Arab Emirates today is one of the leading countries in human-trafficking and is one of the main supporters of terrorist groups in Syria and other parts of the Middle East.
