ICBU Condemns the UAE’s Use of Force in Yemen to Harass Displaced People from the Hodeidah Region of Yemen

The International Campaign to Boycott Uae (ICBU) has condemned the killing of Yemeni citizens by UAE forces and their militias and not allowing many displaced families with children and women to enter the south of Yemen and detain hundreds of vehicles transporting displaced people to the safe areas. Where the families there appealed to everyone to intervene and end their suffering, but no one went to help them or communicate with them. Many displaced people from the West Coast sleep on the roads at the entrances of southern cities in the open without assistance. An organized media campaign led by the UAE through social networking sites in Yemen against displaced citizens coming from the West Coast is full of racism, hatred and hostility to displaced people from the southern provinces.

Unknown assailants threw a grenade at a place where the displaced people of Hodeidah gathered in the Cairo round district of Aden, killing two people and injuring five others, some critically. Hundreds of residents of the city of Hodeidah were killed and wounded as they fled the heavy shelling by the UAE forces on the city and the rest of the West Coast cities, and those who managed to survive and fled to the south, the militias loyal to Abu Dhabi, especially in Aden, waiting for acts of abuse and the practice of racism instead of providing shelter and food, while the UAE claims to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on relief work in Yemen, and that the attack on Hodeidah comes within the framework of relief effort And humanitarian of Abu Dhabi in this country.

ICBU said that the international community, human rights institutions and UN institutions should intervene to stop human rights violations committed by the United Arab Emirates in Yemen and its financing of terrorism. The boycott campaign also called on companies, banks and international institutions to boycott the UAE economically because of its continued funding of terrorism and human rights violations inYemen and to force authorities in Abu Dhabi to respect human rights. The boycott campaign aims to isolate the UAE economically and politically because of the endless violations of human rights practiced by the UAE, as well as the war crimes in Yemen and violations of workers’ rights. The UAE is a centre of modern slavery and today it is one of the leading countries in the field of human trafficking. UAE still supports terrorist groups in Syria and other parts of the Middle East and East African countries.
