ICBU Demands that Britain Exclude the UAE from Participating in the London DSEI Exhibition

 

The international campaign to boycott UAE (ICBU) has demanded that the British government and the organizing committee of the exhibition of defense and international security equipment (DSEI) to be held in London next month, due to human rights violations committed by the UAE in its war in Yemen, and also because of racism against foreign workers Women, arrests and torture carried out by the UAE against dissidents from academics, journalists, media and writers.

 

The campaign said that if the British government continues to invite the UAE to take part in the arms show, this would be considered tacit participation in its crimes and violations against human rights, especially the UAE war in Yemen.

In the same context, according to human rights reports that the discovery of many British weapons used by the UAE against civilians in Yemen. On the other hand, the international campaign called on all participating countries to boycott the exhibition until the UAE is excluded from participating in the exhibition.

 

The United Arab Emirates continues to violate human rights, especially women’s rights and equality before the law. The boycott campaign calls on the international community to intervene immediately to stop human rights violations in the UAE and to oblige the UAE authorities to respect human rights laws. The campaign also called on all countries that respect human rights laws and the free world to boycott the UAE because they violate human rights on a daily basis, whether in the war in Yemen or with neighboring countries or their citizens or residents.

 

The boycott campaign said it was launched in light of the endless human rights abuses practiced by the UAE, as well as the war crimes it committed in Yemen and abuses of workers’ rights, as well as the UAE being the center of modern slavery. The UAE is today one of the leading countries in human trafficking and is a major supporter of terrorist groups in Syria and other parts of the Middle East.
