International Campaign to Boycott UAE (ICBU) completed its awareness-raising activities aimed at international public opinion, especially the European Union, to promote the isolation and the boycott of Abu Dhabi because of its human rights violations and its racism against foreign workers and war crimes in Yemen. The posters were posted at the main train stations in Geneva, in front of the headquarters of UNESCO and the UNHCR in a symbolic move to expose the UAE’s practices such as human-trafficking and its contribution to the spread of modern slavery in Libya and Dubai.

ICBU called on its posters to boycott the UAE and its products and called on Swiss citizens to join the large campaign that began to expand in Europe. Other posters included the demand to stop UAE’s war in Yemen. ICBU aims to attract international public opinion to boycott the UAE as a form of pressure to compel the UAE authorities to respect human rights and stop human rights abuses, especially the rights of foreign workers and women, and stop human trafficking and war in Yemen.

ICBU mentioned that it was launched in the light of the endless violations of human rights practiced by the UAE, as well as its war crimes in Yemen and violations of workers’ rights, and the fact that the UAE is the centre of modern slavery. The United Arab Emirates today is one of the leading countries in human-trafficking and is one of the main supporters of terrorist groups in Syria and other parts of the Middle East.
