International Campaign to Boycott UAE (ICBU) launched new “Boycott List” which announced Investment Corporation of Dubai as the next target for Boycott efforts. The new list included dozens of companies that are owned by the Dubai government through the aforementioned body.

The Campaign justified the new list due to United Arab Emirates crimes in Yemen and the human rights violations in Dubai and other parts of the country.

Major companies where listed such as Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Transportation Sector, Emirates Group, Dnata, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), Dubai Duty Free Establishment, Emirates NBD, Dubai Islamic Bank
Borse Dubai, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Union National Bank, National Bonds
and National Bank of Fujairah and HSBC Middle East Finance Company

The list also included companies and centres of investments such as Dubai World Trade Centre, Deira Investments, Dubai Development

Dubai Investments, Emirates Rawabi, Galadari, Emirates Investment and Development

Campaign spokesperson Henry Green said in a statement that the new step is part of the efforts of ICBU to expose UAE and make boycott, divestment and sanctions as the next goal internationally. He added that UAE should be boycotted for its crimes in Yemen and also inside Dubai where slavery and human trafficking is increasing.

The newly appointed Head of Awareness and Mobilisation at the campaign, Emily Revieni said that the campaign actions in Europe and elsewhere will make sure that people worldwide become aware of the real face of UAE not the artificial tourist attraction face it tries to market.

The campaign was established to defend human rights as United Arab Emirates (UAE) is intensely involved in human rights violations. The country which seems glittering from the outside, has an appalling dark side. From committing war crimes in Yemen, to modern slavery and Labourers abuse; the country has grimly failed in respecting human rights. Besides, UAE is considered as one of the leading countries in “human trafficking” and the “hub of money laundering” and “key supporter for many terrorist groups in Syria and other parts of the Middle East”.

In the shadow of these harrowing facts, we the founders of this project, (Journalists, Human Rights Activists, Victims of UAE) have launched this movement, “International Campaign to Boycott UAE” to raise awareness of UAE’s human rights abuses and their violations of International law. The Campaign will work side by side with decision makers, organisations, advocacy movements and other international bodies to help achieve our principled goal.
ICBU seeks to end UAE human rights violations and promote the value of the human rights across the world.
