Paris, France, 01-10-2017 – A group of human rights activists launched the International Campaign to Boycott UAE. The launch was announced in a think-tank workshop attended by dozens of groups of human rights defenders, campaigners and victims of UAE’s discriminatory laws.

International Campaign to Boycott UAE (ICBU) will commence its activities as early as 15th of October 2017.

Various activist groups have already been formed in Paris, Brussels, Berlin, London, Rome, Madrid, and New York. Other groups will also be launched in other countries. They will be operating under the General Secretariat of ICBU.

ICBU has been launched in response to United Arab Emirates (UAE) never-ending human rights violations. UAE has been committing war crimes in Yemen in addition to being the hub of modern slavery and Labourers abuse; the country has grimly failed in respecting human rights. Besides, UAE is considered as one of the leading countries in “human trafficking” and the “hub of money laundering” and “key supporter for many terrorist groups in Syria and other parts of the Middle East”.

Previous HRW 2016, report criticized UAE’s human rights record suggesting there is no Freedom of Expression while its jails are characterised of Arbitrary Detention, Torture, and Mistreatment of Detainees. It also stated that UAE of mistreatment of Migrant Workers. The report has also criticized UAE’s war on Yemen as well as lack of Justice for UAE residents.

The campaign endeavors to ending the War on Yemen, Save the Humans, and ending Slavery including Human Trafficking.

It also seeks to bring justice to Asian/other Labourers who are abused and lack their basic rights.

It also seeks to put an end to the UAE’s support to terrorist Group across the Middle East & North Africa

Our campaign employs various mechanisms to pressure UAE Government. Our mechanism includes campaigning efforts to Boycott UAE, its government and public-sector organisations. Its only boycott and isolation will push UAE to respect human rights.
